COLORADO SPRINGS - Police say a woman intentionally set her five children on fire. One of them, a 16-month-old girl, died.
Maria Joseph, 25, is in jail on suspicion of murder after the incident that killed her daughter, Aisha Joseph, and severely injured her four other children.
The children's grandmother, Linda Joseph, told KRDO-TV that Maria Joseph was overly stressed and simply snapped.
Linda Joseph said her daughter-in-law had been a "great mom," but taking care of five children after her husband's suicide proved too much.
Neighbors said Maria's husband, Simeon Joseph, committed suicide at the house late last year. That left Maria Joseph as a single parent without a job, who was trying to raise five children.
Cry me a river. There are plent of people who have had it harder than you that didn't set their kids on fire. You obviously had a loving family that was willing to help.
