Thousands of Dutch Prepare for 2012 Apocalypse, According to Report:
Now thousands of Dutch people are preparing for the Apocalypse that was allegedly foretold by the Mayan calendar that says the world will end by 2012. They're preparing for Armageddon in a very Y2K like fashion.

Or the world ends in 4 years
World ends in a couple of decades
NASA warming scientist: 'This is the last chance':
Top NASA scientist James Hansen says that at the rate we're going with global warming we'll all be dead in a matter of decades.
So get out there and expel even more carbon emissions. I can't wait that long for the end of the world.

Tomorrow is the end of the world
Is The End Of The World Coming On June 12th?:
Are you like me and looking forward to the Apocalypse? Well one...ahem...gentleman says that it will happen tomorrow.
Don't hold your breath though. Hawkins isn't exactly batting a thousand when it comes to his doomsday prophecies...
Maybe June 12th is when the government will be storming his compound.
Nod of doom to my lovely and talented wife Jade.
Are you like me and looking forward to the Apocalypse? Well one...ahem...gentleman says that it will happen tomorrow.
An elusive group just outside of Abilene, Texas is claiming the end of the world is coming in less than a week.
The House of Yahweh recently gave ABC reporter Brian Ross access to their west Texas compound. Yahweh leader Yisrayl Hawkins says a nuclear holocaust will come June 12th and only members of his group will be saved.
All group members change their last names to Hawkins and live in the compound.
Don't hold your breath though. Hawkins isn't exactly batting a thousand when it comes to his doomsday prophecies...
Hawkins has predicted a doomsday twice before. He's also accused of having two dozen wives, and is facing bigamy charges.
Maybe June 12th is when the government will be storming his compound.
Nod of doom to my lovely and talented wife Jade.

Armageddon takes a step backwards
Will new collider create black holes that destroy us all?:
Unfortunately, no.
So the Large Hadron Collider can not be used as a Doomsday Device...yet.
Switzerland is kind of like the North Pole isn't it?

This stone's called Apophis it brings Apocalypse
German schoolboy, 13, corrects NASA's asteroid figures: paper:
According to the article a 13-year-old German amateur astronomer has corrected NASA's findings on the asteroid Apophis.
Nico Marquardt says that Apophis has a 1 in 450 chance of striking Earth instead of the 1 in 45,000 that NASA has said.
Unfortunately none of this will happen until 2036. I don't know if I can wait that long for the Apocalypse.
Anyway NASA is now denying that Marquardt's claim is correct so it might be a moot point anyway.

Doomsday Lawsuit
Doomsday fears spark lawsuit:
Personally I plan on suing Fermilab and CERN for not picking up the pace. It'll make this whole Doomsday Device thing a whole lot easier.
The builders of the world's biggest particle collider are being sued in federal court over fears that the experiment might create globe-gobbling black holes or never-before-seen strains of matter that would destroy the planet.
Representatives at Fermilab in Illinois and at Europe's CERN laboratory, two of the defendants in the case, say there's no chance that the Large Hadron Collider would cause such cosmic catastrophes. Nevertheless, they're bracing to defend themselves in the courtroom as well as the court of public opinion.
The Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, is due for startup later this year at CERN's headquarters on the French-Swiss border. It's expected to tackle some of the deepest questions in science: Is the foundation of modern physics right or wrong? What existed during the very first moment of the universe's existence? Why do some particles have mass while others don't? What is the nature of dark matter? Are there extra dimensions of space out there that we haven't yet detected?
Some folks outside the scientific mainstream have asked darker questions as well: Could the collider create mini-black holes that last long enough and get big enough to turn into a matter-sucking maelstrom? Could exotic particles known as magnetic monopoles throw atomic nuclei out of whack? Could quarks recombine into "strangelets" that would turn the whole Earth into one big lump of exotic matter?
Personally I plan on suing Fermilab and CERN for not picking up the pace. It'll make this whole Doomsday Device thing a whole lot easier.

Mystery virus hits remote island
Remote virus-hit island seeks aid:
This is how it starts. Someone from the rescue team will bring it back to the mainland and then it will be The Stand.
Britons living in what is described as the remotest community in the world are seeking help after the outbreak of an acute virus.
Many of the 271 British citizens living on the volcanic island of Tristan da Cunha, in the south Atlantic, have developed severe breathing problems.
They need to ensure that their current medical supplies do not run out.
An international operation to provide help is being led by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
This is how it starts. Someone from the rescue team will bring it back to the mainland and then it will be The Stand.
